Information:

Calling Montana home for 20 years, Jerry received his graduate degree in geography, from the University of Montana. Prior to entering graduate school, he was a jack of all trades working in construction and for the United States Forest Service. Between 1999 and joining the Institute, he has worn many community development hats, including: working in the private sector managing the development of private lands; as a local land use planner and county planning director; and for the State of Montana where he provided practical advice and assistance to local governments and other clients about community development issues. He and his wife, Debbie, have two daughters; Halley and Elsa. Jerry is passionate about rural communities and the amenities they provide us, particularly working landscapes and wild places. His hobbies include fly fishing, hiking and playing hockey.
