Webinar: Sustainable Agriculture and Foodshed Planning - October 30, 2012
Rising transportation costs and climate variability have a dramatic impact on our food system. To protect residents, particularly vulnerable populations, cities are taking notice and integrating food planning policy into general plans and climate action initiatives. This webinar will give an overview of sustainable agriculture and urban foodsheds and take a closer look at specific food planning efforts in the West.
For this webinar, three presenters will discuss the finer points of urban agriculture and the components of food policy as they apply to zoning ordinances and codes as well as preliminary food planning in Idaho's Treasure Valley and the work conducted by the Santa Fe Food Policy Council.
