Diane Kushlan has been a practicing planner for over thirty-five years working for small and large public agencies in California, Washington State and Idaho. Her public agency experience includes planning director in Carmel, California and Mercer Island, Washington. In 2002, she started a consulting practice devoted to Idaho cities and counties, and non-profits.

Diane holds a masters degree in City Planning and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). She is currently on the board of the American Planning Association Idaho Chapter, serves as the professional development officer for the Chapter, is the coordinator for the Urban Land Institute Idaho District Council, and is an adjunct professor in the Boise State University Graduate Program in Community and Regional Planning.

While earning her J.D. at University of Oregon School of Law, Ms. Peters became interested in urban and sustainable agriculture from a law and policy perspective. She went on to earn her LL.M. in Agricultural and Food Law at the University of Arkansas. She has published several articles on urban agriculture policies and has also designed a course in land use law and urban agriculture. Currently, she is the Agriculture and Food Policy Manager at Downstream Strategies, an environmental consulting firm in West Virginia. There, she focuses on issues related to sustainable agricultural methods, local food systems, and urban agriculture, and recently completed a comprehensive report on West Virginia's local food system infrastructure for the West Virginia Food & Farm Coalition.

Rubina Cohen is the Coordinator for The Santa Fe Food Policy Council. The Council made the decision to pursue a Community Food Assessment looking at food accessibility issues in Santa Fe. The Community Food Assessment found the most vulnerable suffer with access to good nutritious food. Through the Assessment key focus areas were identified and also they determined the need to create the Food Plan for Santa Fe.
